New Post Topic C - Mobile Devices
What are your ideas about exploring small mobile devices as a target/source for illustrating and documenting design? Are there benefits in designing pages to be displaed on Mobile devices that are capable of browsing the internet?

I think that Mobile internet is actually really cool, I have played on it numerous times...not on my own phone because I don't want to pay for it, but I think it benefits anyone that is always out of town. I think it really helps employees still e-mail customers and what not when they are out of town, especially if they don't have internet access for their computer in certain places. It's quick and easy to use if you need directions, or just information on something. There have been a few times that I believe I would have saved a lot of time, if I was just able to get on the web from my phone. With cell phones now, companies have an upper hand. If they want GPS connected to the phone they can watch where there employee is going.
I'm for getting most web pages up on a cell phone if they have value.
Sure, why not. Just don't send me any spam!!! Acutally, I wouldn't see myself ever purchasing a small phone or some sort of small mobile devices that's capable of browsing the internet. So, for some of us is it worth it? No! But, for other's, Yes!! It would be great for those individual and corporations that are not only into that stuff but find it necessary for their personal lives and business to function. What a tool!!! If used properly it could save time, and time is money. It's great to think one while camping could find out BYU beat Utah only seconds after the game was over.
of course there are benifits to having the internet on your mobil device. Its a handy was to check things, look up people, places, facts, sports, news, whether, etc... when you don't have a accessibility to have a computer with internet by your side! Disagreements and arguements often happen between friends, family or whoever this is happening with, settle the arguement by finding out the truth with your moble device you always have with you!
Phone companies are selling more and more smartphones that access the internet. I think that there is a big advantage to setting up a webpage for view on such. With a lot of business people having the access of the internet right in there hand anywhere they are, it would make your info available easily and user friendly for them as well.
Hi My Name is Karl Ostler,
I am the Site Moderator - also Technical Illustration and Documentation adjunct instructor at Weber State University.
In 2001 I chose to pursue a part-time college teaching career. As an adjunct professor, teaching has been and continues to be a very rewarding endeavor. However as an adjunct professor, I have experience a number of challenges in planning and delivering courses and in managing the various issues that often affect my teaching. In further anticipation of these challenges, I have attempted to develop sound strategies for addressing them. One area in particular is a strategy to extend the student learning experience to outside of the traditional lecture style classroom. A second area of particular interest is to extend student learning to be participative and to challenge students in critical thinking while solving ill-structured real world types of problems.
